Scion to announced pricing for the 2010 Scion xD – Folks purchasing the next model year of the xD will be met with $150 increase. Besides an increase price Scion has thrown in a few new upgrades -new standard and optional audio systems and also gains standard Vehicle Stability Control (VSC).
Recently we received maybe the coolest large box in the mail, the address was from Hitachi Tokico USA! This could only mean one thing – The McPherson shocks and struts we have had on for the past 13k miles were going and new Tokico HP shocks and struts going on.
For the past week our project xD / ist has been sporting brand new suspension. The new HP shocks and struts supplied by Tokico make our project car roll really nice and smooth. We will provide further review in our Product SpotLight section.

This past week MicroCar Magazine proved the power of social networking on the internet when our Twitter account was followed by Portland, Oregon native Andy Lilienthal of Subcompact Culture.
Today Scion made wasabi not just something you find in a Japanese Sushi resturant but now the color for the final limited edition car of 2009. Scion decided to select the xD as this car and give it an imaginary color of Electric Wasabi. Unlike the RS 1.0 xD, Scion decided to concentrate on interior mods and not so much with the exterior. The RS 2.0 Electric Wasabi Scion xD comes equiped with all sorts of electronic goodies.
As the American car industry has faced hard times, some interesting partnerships have arisen. We at MicroCar Magazine can’t wait for something to come from this.
The big thing for us at MicroCar Magazine is how much power can we squeeze out of our cars. In comes Weapon-R, around for a long time providing the aftermarket auto parts industry with performance enhancement parts. We were lucky to have experienced the products produced by Weapon-R in one of our other project cars, 2004 Scion RS 1.0 xB.
When Toyota first launched the Scion product line they started off with 2 models, xB and xA. After 2 years they released the ever popular tC. As sales in the xA declined, Scion looked for a way to add a replacement. The answer to Scions quest brought us the xD– this also was met with the refresh of the Toyota iSt, the xD’s cousin from the Far East.
